Portuguese II
A continuation of MIT's introductory Portuguese sequence (21G.801), this course builds intermediate speaking, reading, and writing skills entirely in Portuguese. Materials draw on authentic sources including internet content, audio recordings, video clips, and printed texts from Portuguese-speaking countries, used to expand vocabulary and grammar while building cultural awareness of Brazil and Portugal. Class sessions emphasize spoken practice and comprehension, with readings and listening exercises that push students toward greater fluency and accuracy. MIT OpenCourseWare provides the syllabus and course materials for self-study; there are no graded assignments or certificate, since this is an audit-only OCW offering. The course suits learners who have completed a first-semester Portuguese course and want structured practice materials rather than a live instructor-led class.
