Power Electronics
MIT's 6.622 covers the modeling, analysis, design, and control of circuits used for electronic conversion and conditioning of electric power, following the IEEE definition of the field. Students work through the fundamental principles behind power electronic components and systems, including switching converters, magnetics, and control loops, building toward the ability to both analyze existing circuits and design new ones. Materials on MIT OpenCourseWare include lecture notes, problem sets, and exams from the MIT course, offered through the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. The course is pitched at an advanced undergraduate or graduate level and assumes prior circuits and electronics background. There is no instructor interaction or certificate, but the full set of coursework used at MIT is available to study at your own pace, free of charge under MIT's open licensing terms.
