A self-contained introduction to quantum field theory from MIT OpenCourseWare, covering the core formalism and its applications in elementary particle physics and condensed matter physics. The course builds up canonical quantization, Feynman diagrams, and perturbation theory, then applies these tools to scattering processes and many-body systems, showing how the same machinery describes both particle interactions and collective phenomena in solids. Materials include lecture notes, problem sets, and exam materials made available through MIT's OpenCourseWare platform under a Creative Commons license. The course assumes prior graduate-level exposure to quantum mechanics and classical field theory, and is aimed at physics graduate students building toward more advanced topics in particle theory or condensed matter. No certificate is offered, consistent with MIT OCW's open publication of course materials rather than an instructed online class.
