The Aerospace Industry
MIT OpenCourseWare offers this seminar for junior and senior aeronautics and astronautics students preparing for their first industry roles. The class meets weekly to examine recent aerospace history and current events and to trace how those events have shaped the state of the industry today. Nearly every session brings in an invited subject matter expert, and discussion is built around their firsthand perspective rather than standard lectures. Materials on the OCW site include the syllabus, session topics, and guidance on structuring informed discussion. The course does not center on technical design work but on developing informed judgment about industry trends, business dynamics, and current events relevant to aerospace careers. As with other MIT OpenCourseWare offerings, all materials are free to access, with no certificate offered.
