MIT's D-Lab: Supply Chains covers the design and operation of supply chains for products meant to improve quality of life in developing countries. Lessons address demand estimation, capacity planning, process analysis, inventory management, and supply chain coordination and performance, along with emerging-market issues like sustainable supply chains and coupling product design with supply chain operations. A central component is a student project applying these concepts to design or improve an actual supply chain. Offered jointly through MIT's Sloan School of Management and the Edgerton Center, the course provides lecture materials, assignments, and project guidelines through MIT OpenCourseWare, free to access with no certificate offered. It suits learners interested in operations, logistics, or international development work.
