MIT OpenCourseWare offers this advanced graduate course on the theory and design of discrete-time signals and systems. Topics include discrete-time processing of continuous-time signals, decimation and interpolation, sampling rate conversion, flowgraph structures, time- and frequency-domain design of IIR and FIR filters, linear prediction, the discrete Fourier transform and FFT algorithm, short-time Fourier analysis, filter banks, multirate techniques, Hilbert transforms, and cepstral analysis with applications. Materials include lecture notes, problem sets, and exams following MIT's Electrical Engineering and Computer Science curriculum. The course assumes prior background in signals and systems and builds toward the mathematical tools used in modern audio, speech, and communications processing. Free to access through MIT OpenCourseWare under a Creative Commons license, with no certificate offered.
