Managerial Psychology
MIT's Sloan School of Management offers this introduction to behavioral science as it applies to work and organizations. The course moves from an overview of work in modern industrial society through individual behavior, group and team dynamics, and finally organizations as whole systems. Students engage with the behavioral research process directly, learning to design and interpret studies rather than just read about them, and practice presenting findings in both oral and written reports. Materials on MIT OpenCourseWare include the syllabus, readings, and assignments used in the actual MIT class. By the end, students should understand core theories of managerial psychology, know how to keep learning in the field independently, and have practiced the communication skills managers need to translate behavioral findings into workplace decisions. No certificate is offered, since this is a free self-study archive of course materials.
