Quantitative Physiology: Cells and Tissues
MIT OpenCourseWare offers this cellular biophysics course jointly taught through Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biological Engineering, and Health Sciences and Technology. The material covers how molecules cross cell membranes, the transport mechanisms involved, how cells regulate composition and volume, and how membrane potentials are generated and used. Mathematical models are built alongside experimental data throughout, so lectures pair theory with lab results rather than treating them separately. The course is designed for both undergraduates and graduates and includes lecture notes, problem sets, and exams as course materials, following MIT's standard OCW format. No certificate is offered since OCW is a materials archive rather than an instructor-led platform, but all readings, assignments, and exams are posted free under a Creative Commons license.
