An advanced game theory course from MIT OpenCourseWare covering the core equilibrium concepts used in economics research. Lectures work through iterated strict dominance, rationalizability, Nash equilibrium, subgame perfection, sequential, perfect, and proper equilibria, the intuitive criterion, and iterated weak dominance, applied to auctions, bargaining, and repeated games. The course then turns to cooperative game theory and non-cooperative implementations of cooperative solutions, closing with matching theory and network models. Materials include lecture notes, problem sets, and readings drawn from the primary game theory literature, following MIT's standard OCW format of free self-study access with no enrollment or certificate. The course assumes prior exposure to introductory game theory and is pitched at graduate or advanced undergraduate level, building rigorous mathematical treatment on top of that foundation rather than reintroducing basic concepts.
