MIT OpenCourseWare's Aerodynamics (16.100) extends fluid mechanics from the Unified Engineering sequence into the aerodynamic behavior of wings and bodies across subsonic to hypersonic regimes. The course covers subsonic potential flows using source and vortex panel methods, viscous flows including laminar and turbulent boundary layers, airfoil and wing aerodynamics through thin airfoil theory and lifting line theory, panel method and interacting boundary layer techniques, and supersonic and hypersonic airfoil theory. Course materials include lecture notes, problem sets, and design project material, which varies by year depending on the specific design problem assigned.
