MIT OpenCourseWare offers this control systems design course covering both frequency domain and state space techniques. Topics include control law design using Nyquist diagrams and Bode plots, state feedback, state estimation, and dynamic control law design, along with an elementary analysis of nonlinearities and how they affect control design. The course makes extensive use of computer-aided control design tools and applies these methods to real aerospace systems, including navigation, guidance, and vehicle control. Materials follow MIT's OpenCourseWare format of lecture notes, assignments, and problem sets drawn from the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics curriculum. The course suits students who already have a foundation in linear systems and want to see control theory applied directly to flight vehicle guidance and navigation problems. All materials are free under MIT's open license, with no certificate offered.
