MIT OpenCourseWare's graduate-level electrical engineering course covering circuit and system design for high speed communication, focused on wireless and broadband data link applications. Circuit topics include transmission lines, high speed and low noise amplifiers, VCOs, and high speed digital circuits. System topics include frequency synthesizers, clock and data recovery circuits, and GMSK transceivers. Students build analysis skills for each of these components and gain hands on practice simulating circuits in SPICE and systems in CppSim, a custom C++ simulator built for this material. Materials come from MIT's OpenCourseWare archive under course number 6.976, offered by the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department. As with other MIT OCW offerings, lecture notes and assignments are freely available with no certificate attached.
