An MIT Sloan School of Management seminar built around leadership, service, and improvement projects in operations and manufacturing. Sessions are largely run by the students themselves and include presentations from guest speakers, often senior managers at manufacturing companies, who discuss real operational challenges and leadership issues. The course is aimed at Leaders for Global Operations (LFM) Fellows and other graduate students focusing on operations and manufacturing, and it functions as an integrative forum tying together technical and managerial coursework rather than delivering a fixed lecture sequence. Materials available through MIT OpenCourseWare include the syllabus and session structure. It offers a view into how MIT pairs engineering students with industry practitioners to examine leadership in a manufacturing context, though the format is discussion and guest-driven rather than built on problem sets or exams.
