MIT's graduate course 6.453 covers the physics and engineering of quantum information carried on light. Lectures build from single-mode and two-mode quantum optical systems up through multi-mode fields, covering quantum descriptions of coherent states, squeezed light, and photon detection statistics. The course treats nonlinear optics as a tool for generating quantum light sources and works through quantum system theory as applied to optical communication channels, including capacity limits set by quantum mechanics.
