MIT Sloan's GlobalHealth Lab pairs student teams with health care enterprises operating in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, including partners such as Imperial Health Sciences, Unjani Clinic, and L V Prasad Eye Institute. Teams take on custom projects in strategy, business model innovation, operations, marketing, and technology to solve barriers the partner organizations identify themselves. Class sessions combine case discussions, practical exercises, and conversations with practitioners to prepare students for an intensive two-week onsite collaboration with entrepreneurs and staff in the field. Assignments include a portfolio of deliverables for the host organization, a toolkit built to support the project work, and a written distillation of lessons learned on site. Course materials are published through MIT OpenCourseWare, including sample student projects from real partner engagements, giving a concrete look at how classroom frameworks get applied to actual health delivery problems in resource-constrained settings.
