A leadership course for teacher-leaders, principals, and superintendents who want to start an instructional improvement initiative in their school. Built from MIT's Open Learning Library on work by Justin Reich and Peter Senge, the course walks through a cycle of study, experimentation, and reflection. Assignments and experiential activities have participants envision the next stage of work for their team, build partnerships with stakeholders at multiple levels, launch a concrete initiative, and measure its progress. The emphasis throughout is on visioning and capacity-building rather than theory alone. By the end, participants will have begun an actual improvement effort in their own school, gained a clearer sense of themselves as change agents, and connected with peers doing similar work. All materials are free to view and use, with optional enrollment for progress tracking.
